If a product contains the OEKO-TEX® label, you can be sure that every part of this product, ie every thread, button and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances and that the article is therefore harmless to human health.
How do they guarantee quality?
Many controlled and non-controlled substances are taken into account when products are tested. Often the limit values for the STANDARD 100 go further than the national and international requirements. In addition, the criteria catalog is updated at least once a year and enriched with new scientific knowledge and legal requirements, so that this label keeps up with the times. It is not easy for textile producers to keep a daily overview of the legal situation of harmful substances, the standardization of OEKO-TEX® helps with this, making it easier to make safe products.
The label is administered by the International Oeko-Tex Association, which also carries out the verification. This originated as an association of 16 textile research institutes, including Centexbel, the Technical and Scientific Center for the Belgian Textile Industry.
