What is a plantable card, and how does it work?

Not only is this card super cute – it’s also a sustainable gift. The paper is filled with flower seeds that help support the habitats of bees and butterflies, and they’ll look lovely in your garden or on your balcony. But how do you plant it?

1. Pick your spot: You can plant it outdoors between March and May, or indoors in a pot all year round.

2. Soak the card thoroughly: The paper needs to break down, so make sure it gets nice and wet.

3. Place it down and cover with soil: Choose your spot, place the card down, and cover it with 1–1.5 cm of soil. Potting or seed-starting soil works best.

   • Important: Don’t add too much soil! A thin layer allows enough sunlight and nutrients for the seeds to sprout. Too much soil might prevent germination.

4. Water, water, and more water: Keep the paper moist, especially at the start. Water daily so the seeds can germinate.
