Hey Wouter! Could you explain what you generally do at Grace is Green?
At Grace is Green, I focus on writing copy for the site. This can really be anything: think of blogs, product information, and brand pages. For this, I research as much information as possible about the products and try to convey it to customers in a clear and engaging way. Hopefully, this means you don’t just read boring product specs, but also learn some fun facts about eco-friendly living!
Since when have you been working at Grace is Green?
I started working at Grace is Green as a summer job in 2020. During those months, I wrote product information for a huge number of items for the site and for bol.com. I returned in May 2021, this time to provide the site with even more great content. I write a lot of blogs about a sustainable lifestyle, and I am currently working on further expanding the information for certain products. This makes it even clearer for the customer what exactly they are buying and what its impact is on the environment.
What do you like most about your job?
I learn a lot from it myself too! I have always enjoyed writing, and this job allows me to channel all my creativity. I also learn a lot about marketing: what is important for a website to be as user-friendly as possible for the customer? Because of this job, I have also had to do a lot of research into sustainability and a green lifestyle, which has taught me so much. As a result, I have started living a bit greener myself!
What is your favorite product from Grace is Green?
I am especially a fan of the products from Banbu and Pandoo. Partly because I think bamboo is a really beautiful and sustainable material, but also because the products from these brands look great. For instance, I personally use the Pandoo towel, which I really like. From Banbu, I find the razors to be excellent products. They look really chic and will last you a lifetime!
Do you have a nice eco tip for us?
I think my best tip is that you don't have to make big changes to live more ecologically. Very small steps can already make a big difference, such as not using plastic bread bags at the supermarket anymore, but bringing your own reusable bag. Or stop shaving with plastic disposable razors and switch to a reusable safety razor. These are small steps I have taken myself toward a sustainable lifestyle, and I can recommend them to everyone!
What else do you do in daily life?
I am studying clinical technology in Delft, for which I am doing an internship this year in various hospitals in the Randstad area. In addition, I love football, playing games, and going for a nice run or bike ride in nature.
