Hi Stijn, can you explain what you generally do at Grace is Green?
I actually have a quite diverse and perhaps even strange role. On one hand, I’m involved with marketing; for instance, together with others in the social media team, I manage our influencers and Instagram. But on the other hand, I’m also the one who looks at the numbers and data every day. Because of this, I know exactly which products have sold the most, what the market trends are, and how many visitors our website has had. At the same time, I have a technical background—I studied artificial intelligence—and I also work on technical integrations. I connect different systems, ensure product data ends up in the right place, and make sure that shipping runs automatically and correctly through all systems!
Do you have any other tasks?
Actually, all our roles within Grace is Green are incredibly varied. For example, last week I was busy packing boxes because it was very busy for a moment, and next week I’m having a meeting with one of our partners about how we can sell more together! One of the most fun things I get to do is occasionally join the photoshoots! A day of playing with the cutest kids on a beach while the photographer runs circles around us. Who wouldn't want that?
Since when have you been working at Grace is Green?
I have actually been working at Grace is Green since the very beginning, when it first came to the Netherlands. Although I was mainly focused on the technical IT side of Grace is Green at the start, setting up the webshop and especially the backend (the systems behind the webshop for our employees), I have been primarily active as a marketer for about a year now.
What is your favorite product from Grace is Green?
I am the biggest fan of the Eco Rascals plate! I think they look super cool because of the bamboo design, but what I secretly also love is how well they perform on Instagram! Many of our influencers are huge fans of the plates, and because of that, I’ve become one too.
Can you ‘spoil’ anything about new products or developments?
There are actually super fun things happening on all fronts; for instance, you will soon be able to find us on Amazon, and soon you will be able to order from Grace is Green from almost all European countries! But what I am actually most a fan of is how we are shipping in an increasingly ecologically responsible way! For example, we now have grass cardboard boxes, i.e., boxes made from grass. Ecological transport is our focus, and almost all our products are provided with truly recognized eco-labels. I think this ecological branch is also the most important part of our company.
Do you have a fun eco-tip for us?
Personally, I try to find an ecological life in the simple things! For example, instead of a plastic trash bag, I use an eco trash bag, instead of regular shampoo, I use shampoo without plastic packaging, and instead of regular plates, bamboo and recycled plates. It’s the little things that, collectively, will ultimately contribute the most to a better world, which we are all fighting hard for!
What else do you do in daily life?
Outside of Grace is Green, I am mostly busy making music! I am a drummer in several bands myself, and I also occasionally produce some music for myself or for other musicians! I’d much rather be on stage playing music on the weekend!
